I’m Back In The Saddle Again!

Hey, hey Peeps. Remember me? Uh. . .  in case you forgot. . .  It’s Chad again! I know it seems like I went AWOL there for awhile —  but, I’m BACK.

Yeah, it felt like I was AWOL too. But the fact of the matter is, I’ve been under attack . . . a PHYSICAL attack for the past 30 days. I somehow pulled a muscle in my back —  and tried to over compensate for that. Not COOL!  As a result of over compensating, I ended up getting a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder area. MAJOR OUCH!!

As most of you know if you’ve been following this blog . . . I’m a musician —  both as a drummer and a guitar player. And as you can imagine, the human body is not built to play musical instruments AND endure a severely pinched nerve, at the same time, Roscoe! Especially those two instruments which require the constant use of your shoulders and arms.

Let me explain what I mean by a severely pinched nerve:  Imagine this . . . someone has buried a hatchet about 4 inches deep into the middle of your back – about shoulder high. Now this produces an intense and always present deep and throbbing pain, that is constant.  NOW,  ( since I’m right handed) try moving your right arm to try and play guitar or drums.

And EVERY TIME  you make the slightest movement, it feels like your arm is being stabbed with an ice pick . . .  to go along with the ever present pain being caused by the ax in the back. Hmmm, that’s a great combination, isn’t it? 4 inch deep ax wound accompanied by an ice pick stab. Certainly not the ideal situation for pursuing the Xtraordinary Life–which is my life goal.

To make matters worse . . . the timing of this attack was absolutely horrible!! Remember, I have recently made the commitment to  getting up a new fan friendly website which is to feature the band, the music in general, and the new music specifically.

Well, obviously, I have not been able to touch anything having to do with that project. My life this last month has consisted of many lost sleep nights, much prayer, and . . . numerous massages, heat treatments and ice pack treatments. FUN, FUN, FUN for the ol’ Chadster – – NOT!!!  Needless to say, the recovery process has varied from non-existent  to only minimally effective.

I have been so desperate to feel good again, that I have even resorted to trying an old Eastern Medical Art called Jin Shin Jyutsu. It is simply energy work — unblocking energy locks from various body areas, and allowing the body’s natural healing energies to  flow freely throughout the entire body. It’s kinda like Acupuncture, but without the needles. And, surprisingly, I have experienced relief success with it.

So as you can imagine . . .  the LAST thing I’ve felt like doing this past month is . . . writing in this blog! Hopefully, no offense to my fans and peeps. But, if you’ve been going through physically what I’ve been through . . .  then you probably wouldn’t be doing much blogging either, Podnah!

Anyway, I am slowly but surely getting better. I think the pinched nerve has finally released now . . . but, the “leftover pain and soreness” is still lingering. Which makes sense, since that part of my body has been under attack for so long.

I’m able to sit at a computer and type again —  and hence this new blog post. But as far as actually playing music again . . . well, that’s still aways  off yet.

Anyhoo . . .please say a prayer for me if you feel so inclined. I would appreciate that very much, my friends!! OK, signing off now, but if you want to get in touch with me for any reason, please hit me up here like always. Peace-out.
